Overview

JTExpenseBot is a Telegram-based expense tracking tool that helps users log receipts to their personal Google Sheets. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how we protect it.

What Data We Collect

When you connect your Google account to JTExpenseBot, we request access to:

• Your Google account email address — used to identify your account and link it to your expense tracker
• Google Sheets — to read from and write receipt data to your personal Google Sheet
• Google Drive — to create new Google Sheets on your behalf when requested

We do not access any files or data beyond the sheets you explicitly authorize during setup.

How We Use Your Data

• Create and write expense records to your linked Google Sheet
• Identify which Google Sheet belongs to which Telegram user
• Share your sheet with the bot's service account so it can write data on your behalf

We do not sell, share, rent, or disclose your data to any third parties.

What We Store

• Your Telegram user ID
• The Google Sheet ID linked to your account
• Receipt hashes used to detect duplicate submissions

We do not store your Google account password, OAuth tokens beyond the active session, or any personal financial information beyond what you choose to log in your own Google Sheet.

Data Retention

Your data is retained for as long as you use the bot. You may request deletion at any time by contacting the bot administrator via Telegram.

Third-Party Services

• Google Sheets API and Google Drive API — to store and manage your expense data
• Google Gemini AI — to scan and extract data from receipt images. Images are temporarily uploaded to Google's servers and immediately deleted after scanning
• Telegram — as the chat interface for the bot
• Frankfurter API — for live currency exchange rate conversion

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. OAuth tokens are handled securely and not logged or stored beyond the active session. Your Google Sheet remains under your full ownership at all times.

Your Rights

• Revoke the bot's access via your Google Account security settings at myaccount.google.com
• Request deletion of your data by contacting the bot administrator via Telegram
• Remove the bot's service account from your Google Sheet directly in Google Drive
